Following the first meeting of the Space Industry Association’s (SIAA) Board of Directors for 2019 we are pleased to announce the 2019 SIAA office holders: Chair Mr Rod Drury CSC, Deputy Chair/Treasurer Mr David Ball, Deputy Chair Dr Alice Gorman and Secretary Mr Peter Nikoloff.

As the new Chair SIAA, Rod brings significant experience to the role gained from a career spanning 35 years in both the local and global aerospace sector, including 20 years in the Royal Australian Air Force and over 15 years in various governance and leadership roles with multi-national aerospace companies.

“I am honoured to be elected by the Board to lead the Space Industry Association of Australia, particularly during such a challenging and exhilarating time for the Australian space industry.” said Rod. “I expect the global space industry to continue to grow and expand over the next few decades and it is important for Australia to be part of, and benefit from, that growth. As always, with new opportunities comes challenges and I am excited to be leading an Association focused on supporting its members with the challenges ahead.”

The new SIAA Board once again acknowledged the significant achievements of the previous Board and key supporters under the leadership of Mr Michael Davis, including the successful International Astronautical Congress in 2017, the SIAA white paper “Advancing Australia in Space”, and the launch of a funding scheme to support worthwhile Australian industry projects.’
