The organisers of the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026) say they have selected 4,619 abstracts for the event, following what they describe as a record call for submissions.

According to the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) secretariat, 8,330 abstracts were submitted from 108 countries. The selection process, reviewed by the International Programme Committee at the IAF Spring Meetings last March, resulted in 4,077 acceptances and 542 back-ups, an acceptance rate of 55.45%.

The congress is scheduled for 5–9 October 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye. Organisers said accepted presentations have been allocated across 204 technical sessions, alongside daily interactive presentation sessions. They said more than 61% of selected presentations will be delivered in an oral format, with 38% as interactive presentations.

Türkiye led the accepted abstract count with 674, followed by the United States (383), China (334), Italy (330), Azerbaijan (211), Germany (202), the United Kingdom (183), Japan (172), Russian Federation (123), France (109), and India and Canada (87 each), according to the email.

The IAF also noted early-bird registration is open until 30 June 2026.
