Kleos Space has appointed LTC Mario E. Zaltzman as advisor to Kleos for a 12-week internship, through the DOD SkillBridge program.
The DOD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships. The program allows for smoother transitioning of military experience into employment skills and on-the-job training.
LTC Mario Zaltzman said, “The DOD program is a great opportunity to gain awareness of the private sector and experience new technology areas. It also allows for a mutual exchange of skillsets. On one hand, Kleos is giving me great insights on the specific markets and technology they are developing; and on the other hand, I contribute to the business with my twelve years of army and on-the-ground experience. This is a great combination and being part of an advanced startup like Kleos is both interesting and challenging”.
LTC Mario Zaltzman, a member of the Army Reserve, served in positions of increasing responsibility to include Process Engineer, Product Manager, Regional Business Unit Manager, National Accounts Manager, Director of Commercial Operations and Director of Integration Projects in the private sector before accepting an active duty appointment into the Army Reserve Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) program as an Acquisition Corps officer. As an Acquisition officer, LTC Zaltzman served in a number of key developmental and critical acquisition positions, culminating with his assignment as Product Manager for the One World Terrain program. He is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps with a Level III Certification in Program Management and a Level II Certification in Information Technology. He also holds a Certification in International Affairs and is an Army War College Distinguished Graduate.
Kleos’ Group Chief Revenue Officer, Eric von Eckartsberg, explained, “Having Mario advising us is a great added value and opportunity for Kleos. We are developing a new capability that can serve the needs of a diverse set of government customers, and Mario’s insights into customer missions and requirements will help us understand how to tailor those products towards those needs. We look forward to working with Mario over the course of this program.”
