Rocket Lab says it will livestream its next Electron mission, “Kakushin Rising”, a dedicated launch for the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) carrying eight satellites built across Japan.
According to the company, the webcast is scheduled for Thursday, March 23 from 3:09 pm NZT / 12:09 pm JST. The company also listed an alternative time of Wednesday, March 22 from 11:09 pm and 8:09 pm ET/PT.
Rocket Lab said the mission will place the payloads into a 540 km low Earth orbit (LEO) to support in-space demonstrations of new technologies. The satellite manifest includes educational small satellites, an ocean monitoring satellite, a demonstration of ultra-small multi-spectral cameras, and a deployable antenna designed to be compacted using origami-style folding and expanded in orbit.
The launch marks the second time Rocket Lab has flown a dedicated Electron mission for JAXA, the company said.
