Senetas Corporation and Nokia have entered into a strategic alliance to deliver quantum-resistant, mission-critical network security solutions for defence and government environments across Asia and beyond. The partnership will combine Senetas’ independently certified encryption technology with Nokia’s trusted mission-critical network infrastructure, providing end-to-end protection from core systems to the tactical edge.
Nokia’s Optical LAN, IP and Optical networking portfolios will be integrated with Senetas’ quantum-resistant encryption, creating a unified capability designed to withstand advanced state-sponsored and criminal cyber threats across dispersed operational environments — including autonomous platforms and ISR systems.
Both companies say the alliance is aimed at closing attack vectors across the entire communications chain, ensuring mission-critical data remains secure from the data centre to deployed assets in contested environments.
In modern defence operations, secure, high-integrity communications are essential at every level — from submerged vessels and remote expeditionary bases to air platforms and joint command environments. Senetas’ encryption technology, which is certified to sovereign and international standards such as FIPS and Common Criteria (or equivalents), provides military-grade security designed for these high-risk domains.
For defence and government customers building sovereign capabilities and strengthening critical infrastructure resilience, the combined offering will deliver secure, scalable and interoperable solutions aligned with national security requirements.
The alliance also underscores the strategic importance of sovereign and trusted technologies. Senetas, an Australian-founded company with a long history in certified encryption for defence, will work alongside Nokia’s global network infrastructure expertise to ensure solutions are developed, controlled and deployed within trusted jurisdictions.
Donny Janssens, Head of Partners for Network Infrastructure, Asia Pacific at Nokia, said the partnership strengthens Nokia’s Defence-in-Depth approach. “Nokia is a trusted partner to the defence community, providing scalable, secure and resilient mission-critical networks, be it making military bases smarter with field-proven fibre technologies or deploying secure multi-service wide area networks for modern defence operations. By partnering with Senetas, we are enhancing our quantum-safe solution to address additional defence-specific needs.”
Senetas CEO Andrew Wilson (pictured) said the alliance sets a new standard for secure communications in defence and government missions. “We’ve engineered highly certified encryption solutions designed for the most demanding environments, and this strategic alliance will bring those capabilities into critical defence and government networks globally. By combining our independently certified, quantum-resistant technology with Nokia’s world-class network infrastructure, we are delivering a new benchmark for secure, end-to-end communications.”
The partnership is expected to support a broad range of national security, defence and space applications, ensuring operational resilience as countries prepare for the era of quantum-enabled cyber threats.
