Bright Ascension has appointed John Baughn as chief executive officer after a period in the role on an interim basis, formalising a leadership transition at the UK-based space software company.
The company said the appointment forms part of its succession planning following the interim leadership period.
Baughn has been involved with Bright Ascension for several years, including as chairman, according to the company. Bright Ascension said the move is intended to provide continuity as it scales its operations.
As part of the changes, Baughn will step down as chairman, with Bill Ainscough taking on the role. Bright Ascension said the shift establishes a clearer leadership structure as it enters its next phase of growth.
“I’m honoured to take on the role of CEO,” said John Baughn. “Bright Ascension has a strong team and strong momentum. I’m looking forward to building on that success and leading the company into its next chapter.”
“I’m pleased to take on the role of Chairman at such an important time for the business,” said Bill Ainscough. “With John’s leadership as CEO and the strong momentum already in place, Bright Ascension is well positioned to continue its growth and deliver for its customers.”
Bright Ascension said it will continue focusing on space software and supporting customers worldwide as it scales operations.
