Neumann Space has appointed Jason Wallace (pictured) as Vice President, Business Development, based in the United States.
The appointment of Mr Wallace is the company’s first U.S.-based executive, intended to meet a growing demand from satellite and mission operators for mobility in space.
Mr Wallace brings nearly two decades of commercial, strategic, and technical experience in the aerospace and defense sectors, with a strong track record in growing early-stage companies and leading business development across civil, commercial, and national security space markets. Based in Los Angeles, he will lead Neumann Space’s customer engagement efforts in the United States and internationally and be responsible for building the company’s business development function and global market presence.
Neumann Space CEO Herve Astier said Mr Wallace’s appointment reflects the company’s strategic focus on international growth, particularly in the U.S. market.
“Jason’s deep understanding of the U.S. space ecosystem and his experience in scaling space companies from R&D to commercialisation makes him an exceptional fit for Neumann Space at this critical juncture in the company’s evolution,” Mr Astier said.
“We are entering an exciting new chapter, fuelled by the accelerating pace of satellite launches, growing mission ambitions, and evolving regulatory opportunities. Jason’s leadership will be instrumental in empowering our customers and partners to unlock the full value of our cutting-edge propulsion technology”.
Mr Wallace brings to Neumann Space deep experience spanning the commercial space industry, the United States Air Force, and the U.S. Department of Defense’s innovation ecosystem. Most recently he served as Vice President of Advanced Development at Phase Four Inc., where he led growth of the U.S. government business segment and drove the development and adoption of next-generation propulsion systems with NASA, the U.S. Space Force, and DARPA, among other key stakeholders.
“The space industry needs high-performance electric propulsion now more than ever, and Neumann Space is delivering a solution that’s both scalable and ready for the dynamic space operations of today and tomorrow,” Mr Wallace said. “I’m thrilled to join the team and help bring this Australian innovation to new markets and missions around the world.”
