
The International Programme Committee of the International Astronautical Federation has announced the plenary sessions and highlight lectures that will take centre stage at the International Astronautical Congress in Sydney later this year.
The plenary sessions cover seven categories – heads of agencies, host plenary, industry, exploration, environment, emerging space country, and next generation.

The head of agencies plenary will offer one-to-one sessions with heads of agencies;

The host plenary session will tackle the power of First Nations’ cultural and scientific knowledge to shape a sustainable space sector;

The industry plenary will look at how a circular economy framework unlocks commercial success in space;

The exploration plenary examines learning to live on another world and the international community’s return to the Moon;

The environment plenary analysis space sustainability, regional priorities, and global responsibility;

The emerging space country plenary looks at Indigenous knowledge and partnerships and how they can heal the Earth and ensure a resilient future; and

The next generation plenary will address the future of human spaceflight.
The three lectures taking centre stage will cover Waratah Seed, Australia’s first industry ride-share satellite; astronomy from the Moon and the need for sustainable special sites; and the IAF World Space Award highlight lecture.
