The International Astronautical Federation has opened submissions for Special Session proposals and technical abstracts for the 77th International Astronautical Congress, taking place from 5–9 October 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye. Under the theme “The World Needs More Space,” IAC 2026 invites scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, academics and Next Generation talent to share new ideas and advances shaping the future of space.
The theme reflects a commitment to pushing boundaries, embracing diverse perspectives and strengthening global collaboration across the space sector.
Special Session proposals are now open, with a deadline of 6 February 2026. Organisers are seeking hands-on and participatory formats aligned with the Congress theme, including workshops, design sprints, campfires, fishbowls and cooperative games. The IAC encourages novel session designs that stimulate dialogue, creativity and active engagement.
Abstract submissions for technical presentations are open until 28 February 2026. Authors of original, unpublished work are invited to submit 400-word abstracts for the opportunity to present in one of more than 200 Technical Sessions or Interactive Presentations sessions across five categories:
A. Science and Exploration
B. Applications and Operations
C. Technology
D. Infrastructure
E. Space and Society
IAC 2026 will bring together experts, innovators and leaders from around the world to explore breakthroughs and emerging frontiers in space science, engineering, policy and industry. The Congress remains one of the largest and most influential global gatherings in the sector, offering a platform for collaboration, visibility and thought leadership.
