Rocket Lab has successfully completed its 19th launch of the year, delivering a technology demonstration mission for the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
The Electron rocket lifted off from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand at 03:09 UTC (14:09 AEDT) on December 14, carrying the “RAISE And Shine” mission. The launch deployed RAISE-4, a single satellite hosting eight different technologies that will be tested in orbit by Japanese companies, universities and research institutions.
The mission is part of JAXA’s Rapid Innovative payload demonstration Satellite (RAISE) program, which aims to accelerate the validation of new space technologies in orbit.
