Australia’s Department of Defence will release an invitation to register, with the intent of down-selecting one or more respondents to assist in support Australia’s space domain awareness.
The current support contract expires in November 2027 and Defence wants to develop a potential long-term strategic partnership under a head agreement arrangement with multiple subordinate contracts.
The capabilities to be supported initially at site on the North West Cape (Exmouth) are the Space Surveillance Telescope and C-Band radar with the expected inclusion of additional capability in 2028/29.
The resulting arrangements will provide support to the Battlespace Surveillance Centre operated by 1 Space Surveillance Unit, located at Edinburgh in South Australia.
The planned release date is early second calendar quarter 2025.
Closing date to register is March 30, 2025. Full details, including ATM documents, are available on the Australian Government’s AusTender website.
