Applications are now open for Round 2 of the International Space Investment Initiative – India Projects, under Grant Opportunity GO7912.
Administered by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, the open competitive program supports Australian organisations undertaking joint space projects with India. The initiative forms part of the broader International Space Investment Initiative, with an India-focused expansion announced in 2022 to strengthen collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the wider Indian space sector.
The grant opportunity is open nationally across all states and territories and is listed under the primary category of Scientific Research. Applications close at 5:00 pm ACT local time on 16 March 2026.
The program aims to unlock international opportunities for the Australian space sector through joint projects with Indian partners, while expanding domestic capability and supporting job creation. It is also designed to demonstrate Australia’s ability to deliver space-related products and services in international markets.
In addition, the initiative seeks to support projects that contribute to a diverse and inclusive Australian space ecosystem, encouraging engagement from businesses, researchers and emerging space professionals. Increasing investment in priority project focus areas, as outlined in the grant guidelines, is also a key objective.
