Unseenlabs has successfully launched its BRO-17 and BRO-20 satellites, marking another step in the expansion of its radio-frequency (RF) detection constellation. The mission, LEVEL TWENTY, lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-15 rideshare flight, supported by Exolaunch.
The mission marks a significant milestone for Unseenlabs as it continues to scale its BRO constellation, designed to detect and characterise vessels worldwide based on their electromagnetic emissions, including ships not visible through traditional tracking systems. BRO-20 is described by the company as a symbolic advancement in the maturity of the network.
Unseenlabs has made several organisational changes in 2025 to support its growth trajectory. William Durieux has been appointed Chief of Staff, while Marc Pilorget has taken on the role of Chief of Operations as the company prepares for its next-generation satellites scheduled for deployment in 2026.
The company is also expanding its international footprint. A new subsidiary has been opened in Singapore with dedicated staff for the Asia-Pacific region, while a U.S. entity led by Craig Brower is overseeing expansion efforts in the United States. Unseenlabs said the broadened presence is intended to strengthen engagement with institutional and commercial customers in key regions.
Founded in 2015, the company marks its tenth anniversary this year. Unseenlabs has progressed from a startup to an established global provider of space-based RF detection, including selection by the European Space Agency as part of the Copernicus Contributing Missions. Its upcoming second-generation satellites will extend RF detection beyond maritime applications to land and space domains.
Co-founders Clément and Jonathan Galic said the latest launches represent an important milestone for the constellation and the organisation’s evolution as it expands teams in Europe, Asia and the United States.
