Defence tech company BIRD Aerosystems has received an order from an undisclosed customer to supply its Aeroshield missile protection system, including SPREOS, for use on VIP Dassault Falcon 7X and Airbus A319 aircraft. Delivery is expected in 2025 and also includes system maintenance services.

SPREOS (Self Protection Radar Electro-Optic System) is a patented DIRCM system for missile approach that detects, tracks, confirms and protects from missile threats. It ensures precise protection against man-portable air defence system (MANPADS) threats and easily integrates with diverse missile warning systems.

“This follow-on order highlights the trust our clients place in BIRD Aerosystems and our proven self-protection solution” said BIRD Aerosystems Marketing Chief Matan Perry. “As we witness a growing need for advanced missile planning defence systems (AMPS) and increasing demand globally, we remain committed to delivering high-end, comprehensive solutions that meet the stringent demands of modern airborne defense. In 2025, the system is scheduled to complete its STC certification on the G-700 and Global-7500 aircraft as well.”

BIRD’s AMPS solution provides protection against ground-to-air threats, including MANPADS attacks, for helicopters and VVIP aircraft for heads of states. A compact and lightweight design is housed within the dedicated AeroShield POD, the system is certified on the Falcon 7X and Airbus A319.

BIRD says it is easy to install and requires minimal aircraft modifications. The low-footprint design allows easy integration, which enables the system to be easily transferred between aircraft for optimal fleet management.
