Applications have opened for Cicada Innovations’ Tech23 program, which will select 23 Australian deep tech startups to participate in the organisation’s annual showcase and networking week.

Cicada Innovations said Tech23 brings together founders, investors, industry and research representatives, government and policymakers. The 2026 program is expected to involve activity across multiple states ahead of September.

The organisation said that since 2023, Tech23 alumni have collectively raised more than $280 million and secured industry partnerships and government deployments linked to participation in the program.

Cicada Innovations CEO Liza Noonan said the program aims to connect startups with investors and other stakeholders and position deep tech as part of Australia’s national priorities, including productivity and sovereign capability.

Eligible applicants include Australian deep tech startups working across sectors such as healthcare, energy, space and aerospace, agriculture, transport and mobility, manufacturing, environmental sustainability, quantum, mining, and defence and security.

Cicada Innovations listed past participants including Puralink, which develops robots for inspecting underground pipes; Xefco, a textile technology company; and Conry Tech, which works on HVAC technology for green buildings.

Applications close on 30th April 2026. Further details are available at www.cicadainnovations.com/cicada-x-tech23.
