ANT61 Signs LOI with Lumir

ANT61 and Lumir are delighted to announce the signing a Letter of Intent (LOI) to integrate ANT61 Beacon modules into Lumir’s Synthetic Aperture Radar constellation (SAR), with work already underway for LumirX satellites scheduled to launch in 2026, and continued collaboration to extend across the 18-satellite LumirX constellation.

The ANT61 Beacon is a satellite module equipped with independent sensors, power and communications systems, and an on board computer. It ensures 24/7 satellite connectivity, real-time telemetry, and satellite recovery capabilities — even in the event of primary system anomaly. For operators, this unlocks rapid tasking, constant health monitoring, and reliable deorbiting capabilities.

Lumir’s first SAR satellite, LumirX-1 with a 0.3-meter resolution, is set to launch into low Earth orbit in 2026 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. By 2030, Lumir plans to launch its 18- SAR satellite constellation, which will acquire 0.15-meter resolution images, to operate a service platform that provides real-time, high-precision image data to global customers.

“This partnership is a powerful example of how NSW innovation is making its mark on the global stage.” David Lawson (Investment NSW’s Trade and Investment Commissioner, Japan & the Republic of Korea) said. “ANT61’s collaboration with Lumir showcases the kind of forward-thinking, globally connected work the NSW Government is proud to support. It reflects the growing strength of our space technology sector and reinforces our position as a key player in the global space economy. We commend both companies for their vision and ambition, and we look forward to the successful launch of the LumirX constellation.”

This LOI reflects a practical step toward more resilient satellite operations and sustainable use of orbit. By reducing downtime, improving failure analysis, and supporting responsible end-of-life actions, operators can extend mission value and reduce debris risk over time.
