The Andy Thomas Space Foundation and program partners will support six new undergraduate students as they undertake first-year university studies in aerospace engineering through its 2025 Venus Program scholarships.
Supported by the ATSF’s annual Education Fund and delivered through an ongoing partnership with The Playford Trust, the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia, Venus Program scholarships aim to encourage high-achieving high school graduates to follow space industry-aligned study pathways, and recognise a demonstrated commitment to academic and extracurricular success throughout secondary education.
Each recipient will receive aa AUD5,000 prize to assist and support their first-year studies, with many of this year’s awardees electing to undertake double-degree studies, combining aerospace or mechanical engineering with mathematics and computer science.
This year’s Venus Program Scholarship recipients include:
-
Lewis Gilbert (St. Peter’s College). Bachelor of Engineering. Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Sciences. University of Adelaide.
-
Teagan Johnson (Loreto College). Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical). Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Sciences. University of Adelaide.
