The first morning of the 18th Australian Space Forum yielded insights and key perspectives on the State of Space, both within Australia and in a global context, with opening keynotes from Andrew Seedhouse, Defence Science and Technology Group, Vanessa Wyche, NASA, Enrico Palermo, Head of the Australian Space Agency and Dan Lloyd, CEO of the Space Industry Association of Australia (pictured).
The morning included an in-depth presentation on opportunities and preparations for IAC 2025 Sydney from Lisa Vitaris, IAC Director and Dr Annie Handmer and included an engaging panel on international cooperation in both government and defence contexts – chaired by Catherine Wood – and drawing on the expertise of Air Commodore Chris Robson, John Olson, Dr Catherine Grace, and Kate Brand of the Bureau of Meteorology.
Themes of opportunity, innovation and an acknowledgement of the capabilities that have emerged in Australian space were echoed throughout, with a focus on continual collaboration as the call-to-action to ensure the sector continues to grow, both in terms of Australia’s sovereign capability and our increasing role in a globally connected ecosystem.
The Andy Thomas Space Foundation has acknowledged all of the speakers and presenters that have taken the stage for sharing their knowledge, insights and unique perspectives, and look forward to a continuation of these vital conversations.
